How to create a free Microsoft Azure Account

  1. Go to https://azure.microsoft.com/free

  2. Select Start Free

  3. Sign in with an existing Microsoft 365 account, or press No account? Create one!

  4. Enter an email address you want to register with. I recommend using a generic email for the inital signup such as admin@ or azure@ so the master administrator account is not linked to a named user. Press Next when you have entered the email you want to use.

  5. Enter the password you want to set for the account, and then press Next.

  6. Select the correct Country/Region and enter your Birthdate, and then press Next.

Make sure you select the correct region for where you are going to be operating the account from. Even through resources can be deployed globally, this setting selects the region where the acount will be stored and cannot be changed later.

  1. A verification code will be sent to the email used in step 4. Enter the code in the box and press Next.

  2. Fill in your personal details and press Next.

  3. Enter payment details and then press Signup.

  4. Your account will now be created. This can take a minute and you should automatically be redirected once it has been created.

  5. Once you have been redirected, select Go to the Azure portal, or browse to https://portal.azure.com

You have now created an Azure account, and are ready to start creating and consuming Azure resources.
